Who is responsible

The free check

The link you check and its report stay in the server's temporary memory for an hour, at a random link, then they delete themselves. We do not tie them to you and do not write them to the database.

We only keep numbers per day: how many checks ran, on which platform (WooCommerce, for example) and which rules failed. No links, no site names, no IP addresses.

So that the check cannot be used for abuse, it has hourly limits per IP address and per site. The counters behind these limits last an hour at most.

Your email address, only if you give it

When you ask for the report by email or join a waiting list (plugin, hosting), we keep: the email address, the language, where it came from (report, plugin or hosting), the shop's platform and the rules that failed, plus the time and version of your consent. We do not keep the link you checked.

The legal basis is your consent (GDPR, art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time by replying to any email from us or writing to hello@guruburu.eu.

We keep the address until you unsubscribe, or at most two years after our last contact.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours notes for each request the IP address, the page asked for, the time and the browser. We use them only for security and errors, on the basis of legitimate interest (GDPR, art. 6(1)(f)), and delete them after 14 days at most.

The page language

On a first visit we pick the language from the country of your IP address, looked up in a database on our own server (IP to Country Lite by DB-IP, CC BY 4.0 licence). The address never leaves the server and we do not keep it. When the country does not tell us the language, we use your browser's.

Cookies

We use no analytics or marketing cookies, so no banner either. A single cookie, locale, appears only when you pick a language from the menu: it remembers the language for a year.

The admin panel uses session cookies, for us only.

Who else sees the data

Our servers are in Germany, in the EU. Emails go out through our email provider, with data kept in the EU. We do not sell or give the data to anyone else.

Your rights

You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its processing and to receive it in a portable format. Write to hello@guruburu.eu.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro), or to the authority in your own country.
